Duckett Creek Sanitary District is now accepting applications for the position of Seasonal Engineering Intern. This position assists the Engineering department with maintaining infrastructure records, mapping, and field surveying operations. This temporary position runs from June through mid-August with up to 32 hours per week. The typical schedule is 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, with some flexibility available to accommodate scheduling needs.
Job Description:
- Review construction and as-built plans for accuracy and project integration.
- Update and maintain the District’s GIS system map.
- Input, verify, and update infrastructure data within the District’s asset management database.
- Assist with engineering and land surveys in the field, operating tools such as an RTK rover and other surveying
equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position: Familiarity with or willingness to learn GIS software, database management, and basic surveying principles. Ability to understand and follow technical manuals, plans, and oral/written instructions. Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors, field crews, and other employees. Ability to balance desk work with physical labor in outdoor environments with exposure to heat, humidity, and uneven terrain.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Currently enrolled in or plans to enroll
in a degree program in Engineering, Land Surveying, Geographic Information Science, Construction Management, or a related field. Requires a valid driver’s license.

The pay for this position is $18.25 per hour.
